After writing the previous "Biggest Loser" post this morning, I am now watching episode nine of the season. I mentioned being most interested in seeing what Neil would do this week, following his recent shenanigans.
What Neil just did was lose 18 more pounds, making him only the fourth contestant ever to lose 100 pounds or more in the course of the show. Even with a large weight increase just two weeks ago, Neil has regained his credibility on the show and hit a major milestone.
The major change in this week's episode came when, after just two weeks competing in trios, the contestants were re-divided into duos. The duo of Isabeau and Ryan won a challenge, each receiving a hybrid car as a prize in honor of "NBC Goes Green" week. But soon after, the same duo lost the weigh-in, and Ryan was sent home.
Nine contestants remain, and six of them are women.
Maybe the 100-pounds-lighter Massachusetts native will win it all this year. But it seems more likely that, for the first time ever, a woman might be crowned the Biggest Loser.
